IN THIS LESSON
Focus: “My Hero’s Greatest Challenge”
Lesson Objective:
Students will explore how their heroes (and they themselves) face challenges. Through art and reflection, they’ll learn that mistakes and obstacles are opportunities to grow stronger — just like real superheroes.
Learning Goals:
Recognize that challenges are part of every story
Practice problem-solving and emotional regulation
Express perseverance and courage through art
Activity: “My Hero’s Greatest Challenge”
Students will draw or write about a time their hero faced a problem.
Encourage them to think about:
What was the problem?
How did the hero feel?
What steps did they take to solve it?
What did the hero learn?
They can include speech bubbles or captions to show emotion and dialogue.
Reflection:
What’s a challenge you faced in real life?
How did you overcome it?
What makes you proud of how you handled it?
Therapeutic Focus:
This lesson helps children connect creative storytelling with real-life coping strategies. It reinforces emotional resilience, empathy, and a sense of accomplishment.
