Why This Book Exists
When my son Jake was diagnosed with autism, I spent years trying to understand how to reach him emotionally.
What finally opened the door wasn’t pressure.
It was creativity.
Drawing.
Storytelling.
Imagination.
These became the bridge that helped him express feelings, build confidence, and connect with the world around him.
Becoming His Superhero was created to help other families discover that same connection.
Inside the Journey
A deeply personal creativity journal designed to help parents connect with autistic and neurodivergent children through imagination, storytelling, and emotional trust-building.
What Begins to Change
Confidence doesn’t always arrive loudly. Sometimes it begins with eye contact. A drawing. A conversation. A child finally feeling safe enough to express what’s happening inside them.
Emotional Expression
Helps children express emotions through storytelling, drawing, and imaginative play.
Confidence Building
Encourages children to see themselves as capable, creative, and emotionally strong.
Parent-Child Connection
Creates meaningful shared experiences that strengthen trust and communication.
Imagination & Identity
Gives children a safe creative space to build confidence through identity-driven storytelling.
“The moment Jake put on the cape, he stopped feeling broken… and started feeling powerful.”
Small Creative Moments Can Change Everything
You don’t need to be an artist. You don’t need special training. You just need a child willing to imagine…and a parent willing to show up.
